What Is Acne?
Acne and acne scarring are two of the most common skin conditions affecting teens and young adults. Those struggling with oily skin, in particular, are no strangers to these skin concerns. Breakouts can be a common occurrence for some and when they strike they can result in uneven texture and severe scarring. Thankfully, treating oily skin doesn’t have to involve drastic procedures. Our surgical and acne scar treatments with the ICON laser are designed to reduce the appearance of acne while minimizing any related scarring. The result is smoother skin, even texture, and long term skin healing.
Why Does Acne Occur?
Acne occurs due to an excessive buildup of harmful bacteria in our pores. Some people are unfortunate enough to have worse cases than others due to the hormonal and environmental factors affecting their skin every day. Additionally, some struggle with having oversized pores that trap more bacteria than usual, leading to an excess of pimples as well as other skin concerns, like blackheads. Breakouts and flare-ups can be frequent for some people and often lead to long-lasting scars. In these situations, seeing help from an aesthetic specialist is essential.
At WPC Aesthetics & Wellness, we feel that addressing acne properly is essential for helping our patients look and feel their best. That is why we are proud to provide our ICON treatments. Treatments with this powerful laser device are fast, hassle-free, and effective, reducing complexion issues in as little as 30 minutes. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal treatment, but the results of the ICON are long-lasting, providing smooth, even-textured skin without the need for downtime.
For optimal skin resolution with the ICON, 3-7 treatment sessions may be required. Following each session, you may notice some slight skin darkening and reddening in your treatment area. This is completely normal and should subside shortly after your visit. As your body produces more collagen, you will notice tighter skin and a reduction in wrinkles over the course of several months as well. Depending on your particular skin type and individual aesthetic goals, more or fewer sessions may be required.
